Thoughts on typographic logo designs research

This one is very tricky...I don't think there will be books on just 'typographic logo design'.....okay may be there is ?
I guess at least there will be books on Logo designs and im sure somewhere on there, they will have what I need to know...

So...for research
I need to:

• Learn more about Logo Design in general-theory and methods
• find books, blogs website, article,( the usual)
• learn about the different logo design techniques and trends( identify different types of logos)
  
• wordplay...a type/ trend of logo design?
• Typographic Vs GRaphical logos- and using type as image in logos...this is an interestng one!
  
• learn...how to design your own logo
• why are 'Typographic Logo Design ' good? what are they for , why do companies need them,
  
• what type brief, target audience, company would this type of logo be appropriate for?
• personal thoughts? why are they good to me?
• with logos...comes branding....
• case studies/ examples
• choosing the right font for the right logo
